Ministries

Here at Martindale, we offer several classes and ministries to meet the needs of our children, youth, adults, and seniors. We are dedicated to sharing God's grace in our community through discipleship and service.

Sunday School

Martindale believes that Sunday school is a very important part of the church. If you ever remember going to church as a child, you probably have warm memories of sitting in a small classroom and learning the stories of Jesus.

The stories we teach the children about Jesus are right from the Bible and the miracles He did in history we never want to forget. Our adult studies that we teach are relevant to today’s issues with prayer being the focus.

We encourage everyone to come; we have a class for all age groups and needs, including nursery, preschool, elementary, middle and high school, young adults, adults, and new believers. Our students are friendly, and our teachers are well prepared and ready to serve you.

Children's Ministry

The children’s ministry offers classes for kids ages 3 to 11 during the Sunday morning sermon and Wednesday evening services. Nursery care is also available during all services.

As we teach the children, our goal is to show them the love of Jesus Christ. In Mark 10:14, Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” We worship God through our songs, crafts, games, and lessons. Some of the lesson themes we study include: Moses and the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus’ parables, the Fruit of the Spirit, and the Armor of God.

It is so very important to teach and reach out to kids while they are young. We would be more than happy to welcome your child into our class!

Youth Groups

Join us every Wednesday night at 7pm for a time of prayer, friends, food, and fellowship!   Every week there is an activity in which the youth group is involved, like: visiting a shut-in from the church, making sandwiches for the homeless shelter, doing a Bible lesson, or just having a gym night.

Also be sure to join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30am as we journey together through the lifetime process of becoming a true disciple for Christ!

Why the name "Solid Rock?"

The name "Solid Rock Youth" is significant because it explains the mission of the youth group at Martindale. While we do socialize and fellowship with one another when we meet, our purpose is so much more than that. Psalm 62:7 (NKJV) reads, "In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God."

Our purpose is to build youth on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ. When He is our foundation, we fulfill His purposes for us, and we receive His blessings in our lives.

Adult Bible Study

Join us on Wednesday evenings at 7pm for our men’s and ladies’ discipleship classes. These classes are a great time to dig deeper into the Word of God and to discover how to apply its timeless principles in life today. Moreover, these classes represent microcosms of the larger body of Christ whose members seek to encourage and pray for one another.

Both the ladies and men are currently reading the book, The Circle Maker, written by Mark Batterson. Visit the official website to learn more

Community Outreach

Our mission statement is, "To be a witness of God’s grace in our community," and that is exactly what we are trying to do. We are passionate about reaching out and inviting everyone to come to our special events that we plan throughout the year. We are so passionate, there is never a charge for these programs.

We have selfless volunteers who pour their time, energy, and resources into touching lives for Christ. Throughout the year we have special services and singers.  We have an Easter Egg Hunt for the children; we offer an over the top Vacation Bible School, Thanksgiving dinner, and Christmas programs.

Martindale offers an excellent Vacation Bible School each summer for kids age 3 to 6th grade. We have a heart for community missions, and we give food and toiletries to shelters. We also have a small food pantry that is stocked solely by our generous church family.

If you are looking for a church that you can connect with and be a part of reaching out to our community, we would welcome your participation.

Ladies Happy Hearts Ministry

The Ladies Happy Heart Ministry is open to all the women of the church.  LHHM serves two main purposes within our church.  It provides fellowship and ministry for women including, Bible study, prayer partners, outings to Amish country, women’s conferences and our eagerly anticipated year-end Christmas party.  We also provide support to the pastoral staff for the many activities throughout the year, such as Valentine fun, community Easter egg hunt, vacation Bible school, pastor appreciation events, Thanksgiving meal, and Christmas celebration.

LHHM is served by a board consisting of an executive director and four committee executors and their assistants.  This board meets monthly with the pastor to plan and coordinate upcoming events.

Our goal is to fulfill the church mission, “to be a witness of God’s grace in our community.”

The Assemblies of God World Missions organization has a heart to reach the lost, plant churches, train leaders and serve the poor and suffering. These are not four separate objectives but an integrated and comprehensive plan – commands of God we obey. They work together to achieve our primary purpose – “so all can hear” the hope of the gospel. Our commitment extends to all people in all nations.

MCF supports specifically Joseph and Laurie Gordon, AG missionaries to India.

Canton Police Department

United World Missions
United World Mission exists to develop well-trained, spiritually-formed leaders
and to strengthen and multiply disciple-making churches that proclaim and
demonstrate the gospel.

We serve churches, donors and missionaries globally by helping them
collaborate confidently with trusted, vetted partners for leadership
development, church planting, and holistic outreach in strategic locations. We
strive to seek God first, serve partners well, live boldly, commit to community,
and surprise the world by loving others in the way of Jesus.

The Navigators
The Navigators is an international, interdenominational Christian ministry established in
1933. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, The Navigators has spread to
more than 100 countries.

The Navigators family includes our staff and those who work alongside our staff, whose
hearts beat with the passion of our motto: “To Know Christ and to Make Him Known ® .”
We are a community of hundreds of thousands of everyday people who influence others
for God’s glory in our normal pathways of life.

The mission of The Navigators is to advance the gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into
the nations through life-on- life mentoring—or discipling—relationships with people, and
equipping them to do the same for others. It’s what we call “generational multiplication,”
as described in 2 Timothy: And the things you have heard me say in the presence of
many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others (2
Timothy 2:2 NIV).

MCF specifically supports the Navigators local representative, Dr. Tom Young.

Teen Challenge USA

families struggling with life-controlling problems, such as addiction.

Adult and Teen Challenge USA is holistic – meaning that we are concerned with the
body, mind, and spirit of those who come to us for help. We endeavour to help people
become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and
spiritually alive

Total Living Center

Jesus taught His follower to pray to the Father, “Your Kingdom come, your will be done. On
earth, as it is in heaven.” The Total Living Center is a place where disciples of Jesus are
sharing the power, love, and hope of His Kingdom with others.

Jesus is concerned about the total person, both now and for eternity. And we are too –
that’s the heart of the Total Living Center. Whether it’s providing a bag of free groceries,
praying with a sick person, or providing another service we’re here to show the love of
Jesus in tangible and meaningful ways to our
neighbours in the greater Canton area.

World Missionary Evangelism

After nearly 60 years of continuous ministry, World Missionary Evangelism
continues its mission to
fulfill the Great Commission and live our faith by
demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ to those suffering from
great need in
body and soul.

As Christian believers, we are called to be living testimonies of the saving
and healing power of Jesus Christ to all nations and peoples. It is our
deepest desire to serve our Lord and be counted among the faithful servants
who have cared for “the least of these” in His name.
